In 2024, Finland experienced an extraordinary year for shortwave stations dedicated to hobbies. Realmix Radio made a spectacular debut, captivating audiences with their exceptional program quality and remarkable technical prowess. Following Realmix Radio’s success, Radio Pico emerged as a legendary station, renowned for its humour and unique content. Later, our family welcomed a new member, Radio Ambient, which played those deep, ambient tunes and ethereal soundscapes.
Of course, we can’t overlook SWR (Scandinavian Weekend Radio), which has been guiding us since 2000. SWR holds the distinction as an independent, non-commercial shortwave broadcaster in Finland.
RBSK doesn’t intend to compete with these exceptional stations. We’ve made a deliberate choice to provide something entirely different, like our friends, to both maintain our fruitful cooperation and because we have some exciting and enjoyable ideas in mind!
For us, this is a tremendous opportunity to revive the nostalgic shortwave (SW) bands, offering something unique to people worldwide.
